The Story Tent is a part of the national 1000 Stories form Finland project launched by YLE Documentary Project. In a screening at Kiasma Theatre, The Story Tent presents comical and confusing sneak peeks at the stories recorded in the summer of 2009 - including Kai Möller’s inspired story of an accident, recorded in Karhupuisto Park.

The Story Tent is a CrossMedia project where stories are collected from around Finland in a travelling blue screen tent studio. The stories, spanning across the whole spectrum of Finnish life, form a picture of Finns' contemporary mental landscape. Most storytellers who entered The Story Tent in the summer of 2009 took the invitation “come and share your most heartfelt stories” literally. Many had been through hard times, but they were able to tell their stories calmly, even with a hint of humour.

The Story Tent has a hectic history of eight months behind it. In less than twenty days, over 300 stories were recorded between Helsinki and Sodankylä. The Story Tent did not only prove to be an efficient and economical way of recording a vast collection of stories but it was also a successful method of producing content that meets the standards of TV, radio, theatre, online and mobile distribution. The production team has presented the concept at various festivals, including Sunny Side of the Doc, Nordisk Panorama and Sheffield Doc/Fest.

On DocPoint's Story Tent day in Kiasma there will be a vast amount of people appearing also in The Story Tent compilation, e.g. member of parliament and actor Risto Autio and  EU parliamentarian Liisa Jaakonsaari. Present are also producer Iikka Vehkalahti from YLE's Documentary Project as well as the director of The Story Tent, Benjamin Oroza, along with other members of The Story Tent crew. The event will be spiced up with live music!

ATTENTION! Change in schedule: The Story Tent is located in front of Kiasma 10am–5pm. From 6pm to 8pm it transforms into a tent theatre screening The Story Tent's stories. The Story Tent screening at Kiasma Theatre between 3pm–4.30pm. Free entry!
