Sins of My Father

Sebastián Marroquín (Juan Pablo Escobar) is the son of Columbian drug lord Pablo Escobar. He grew up amid wealth not knowing about his father’s cruelties. In the early 80s, his father entered politics, changing their lives. Justice Minister Rodrigo Lara Bonilla exposed the Escobar drug cartel. Presidential candidate Luis Carlos Galán was a threat to his political ascent. Humiliated and full of hatred, Escobar had Lara and Galán killed. Since he was 7, Sebastián has feared, fled and suffered due to his father’s name and deeds. Tired, he steps in front of the camera to reveal his life and feelings.

Sins of My Father is a film about the lives that Pablo Escobar destroyed, as told by his own son and the sons of Lara and Galán. Sebastián wants to make peace with their sons, so that they could be an example for Columbia of forgiveness and breaking a cycle of hate. They, too, would then find peace.
