DocPoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival grows into a six-day event
Documentary films conquer the cinemas of Helsinki more extensively than ever before next January, as DocPoint celebrates its 8th edition by becoming a six-day event. This enables both re-runs of the most popular films as well as the expansion of the festival programme.
The Next DocPoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival will be held on the 20th-25th of January 2009.
The enrolment in DocPoint's domestic programmes has come to an end. By the time of the deadline about 110 documentary films had arrived for the categories New Finnish Documentary Films and Documentary Films from Finnish Film Schools, of which the best ones will be singled out to be presented at the festival. The selected films for DocPoint-festival's domestic programme and the student film programme will be announced on 11th December 2008.
In addition to the high-class domestic films, the festival programme also includes a vast selection of films from other countries in the Baltic and Nordic region. The above mentioned films, as well as the rest of the films in the programme, will be available for professionals at DocPoint's Videotheque during the festival.
